Vow Renewal, Inspired by Dante’s Inferno at St. Vibiana in Downtown Los Angeles, was indeed a spectacle to behold. It was an event with a theme inspired by Dante’s Inferno. The bride made a bold entrance, striding down the aisle in a stunning black dress that exuded elegance and rebellion. Instead of a traditional tiara, she wore a black crown, adding an extra mystique to her ensemble. As my team and I arrived at St. Vibiana, we were greeted by a flurry of activity, with makeup and hair stations for the bride’s family members. It was clear that the bride was determined to ensure that everyone had an unforgettable experience, and she certainly succeeded.
Inside the cathedral, the atmosphere was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Everything was black – from the flowers and candles to the decor and rentals. It created a moody yet strangely serene ambiance that was both captivating and surreal. During the ceremony, the bride carried a heart, a bold and unconventional gesture that left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance. Meanwhile, the officiant stood with enormous red wings, adding a dramatic flair to the proceedings.
As cocktail hour approached, guests made their way to the St. Vibiana patio, which had been transformed into a scene straight out of a horror movie. Tombstones dotted the landscape, while actors dressed in costume roamed about, adding to the eerie atmosphere. The fog that rolled in only added to the mystery and anticipation.
And then there was the cake. When it was time to cut into it, instead of the usual white icing, the bride and groom were met with a shocking sight – blood-red goo oozing out from within. It was a bold and daring choice that perfectly encapsulated the wedding theme and left everyone talking long after the festivities had ended.
Overall, Vow Renewal, Inspired by Dante’s Inferno, was a wedding unlike any other I had ever attended. The bride and groom fully committed to their chosen theme, resulting in an unforgettable experience. It was unconventional and daring, but it was a celebration of love and individuality—and isn’t that what weddings are all about?
I need to talk about all of the vendors that made this wedding an utterly unique experience, starting with Just Wonderful Events, Red Bird Catering, and Vibiana for the fantastic experience.
