This portion of your time together is so special and you want to document it properly for the years to come.
WHEN
The best time to book an engagement photography session is a month before you’ve sent out your “Save the Date” cards to your wedding guests. You want to capture this moment in your relationship before the wedding timeline comes in full swing, and you can use these photos to design your invitations. This means that you should be browsing your choices on location and photographers at least a month in advance of booking your session. Having enough time to decide on the details is key to making the most of this experience!
WHERE
I’ve had the pleasure of shooting a good amount of engagement session and have a lot of great recommendations for venues in Southern California. Nature is always a big plus when seeking out a beautiful setting. I have recommended El Matador Beach to past clients and the results have been unforgettable. If you happen to have attended the same school or have roots at a beautiful University, a campus can be a fantastic location as well. I’ve had shoots on both the UCLA campus and the Westmont College campus, and they both turned out wonderful. Another gorgeous option would be the Temescal Canyon, with breathtaking views this is sure to create incredible memories for the bride and groom to be.
