Welcome to my blog. This time I am presenting to you the engagement session of Sandra and Alex, a cute and adorable couple that were referred to me by Cristina; a wedding that I photographed several years ago at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Thank you, Cristina. We had so much fun and since the days are longer and hotter, engagement sessions are better for me if we do them later in the day. Our first plan was to go to Santa Monica Pier, but since it is summertime, and on a Saturday, the pier was completely full and sometimes it’s not that much fun to be surrounded by tons of people. So, we opted for Zuma Beach in Malibu. It is so nice and it is one of my favorite places to go. Later, we drove to Paramount Ranch, also in Malibu, to complete the second part of the session. My clients and I love the experience of going to different venues so that they can choose images from two completely different locations. The Catholic ceremony will take place at St. Margaret Mary Church and the reception will take place at The Reef in Long Beach. I am sure it’s going to be a fantastic soiree..
I little bit about Sandra and Alex:
“Alex and I met at a social gathering in Pasadena. It was kind of funny that while we were both at the same place for a while we connected during the last 30 minutes before I left. His eyes really sparked from the moment that we met and after we went out on the first date he really scared me. Scared in a good way as my gut told me he was the one but it was simply too good to be true. Of course there was so much more that happened along the way, but at the end, love surfaced above all and here we are.”
Proposal
My Alex..where do I start? So, while I was under the weather, around the time he proposed, he was trying to find a way to cheer me up. On a rainy day, and as our usual outings, we went to dinner. For some reason he was not his normal self..something was strange in him. Finally when we went to dinner there was a bouquet of roses and a teddy bear on top of the table waiting for me. That truly took me by surprise and finally, as I picked up the roses and removed the teddy bear from the table, there was a small little box. Alex then got up from his chair and got on one knee and proposed marriage to me. That split moment I was in shock and was not able to say anything, but a few minutes later my tears came out. Alex really took me by surprise and took my breath away. The rest is history as we are soon to be wed : )”
Some of my favorites of the day,
