Sunday was a very fun day!!! The weather could not have been better. I met Jesus and Annette to have a fun day shooting their engagement session.
I have not seen them for months, but we keep in touch via e-mails. They look fabulous!!
I got to stay with them for a few hours and talk and walk a lot. Poor Annette was wearing high heels the whole time. You go girl!! ; )
While we were at the Getty Museum, I realized what bad shape I am in and that I need to do more cardio. We took lots of stairs and Annette and Jesus where so fresh, while I was gasping for breath. Ok, I need to go back to the gym, pronto.
We are going to celebrate the wedding of Jesus and Annette next month. The religious ceremony will be held at the St. Rose of Lima Parish, in Los Angeles, and the reception will take place at the Doubletree Hotel in Commerce. In my posts, this new year, I am going to start introducing how my couples met and how they got engaged. So here is the story about this sweet couple.

*NOTE*: the “professional photographer mentioned in this segment is NOT ME”

How We Met:
It was love at first sight. We would see each other out with our own group of friends, at parties,
clubs or music events. I worked part-time at McDonald’s, which he frequented often. I later found out that he would just go to see me. One night out, at a get- together, I saw him hanging out with his friends. I really wanted him to come over to talk to me, but he was too shy. So, I asked a friend to hand him my number, the day was November 08, 1997. He called, and every time we would contact each other, we would talk for hours. We had so much in common and we both were excited to know about each other. Two months later, (yes! two months!) he asked me out. It was January 1, 2008, movie and almost dinner. I declined on dinner because I was too embarrassed to sit across from him and eat. Months later he asked me to be his g/f, and we have not been apart since. We always seemed to include each other in our wishes for the future. We soon realized that we couldn’t be without each other.

How We Got Engaged:
After 11 years, Jesus proposed. He sure made me wait, but he knew exactly what he was doing
and could have not done it any better. It was a special time in my life… The day was Saturday, March 28, 2009. Jesus took me to Newport Beach where he had made reservations to take us on a Gondola cruise. It was very romantic. He also hired a professional photographer* to snap pictures of every moment. The funniest thing is that I was annoyed by the photographer because how can she sit in with us and snap photos while a romantic afternoon. Then, to my surprise, mid way through the cruise, he proposed. Of course, I said yes!!!! It was the moment I had been dreaming about. Little to my surprise, he still had something up his sleeve. After the proposal, we headed to a restaurant for drinks to celebrate. We arrived at the restaurant and as we walked in, I heard Mariachi starting to play. He had contracted Mariachi and reserved the patio themed banquet room, which was located steps from the entrance. I noticed some familiar faces, the photographer* (once again), our family and closest friends. WOW! He had sent out invitations for them to meet us there and celebrate. They had been waiting for us to arrive. I was shocked!!! I cried. Never have I been so surprised!!!! He made me feel so special, something I will never forget. It was so emotional. I was in disbelief. I loved it!
